Game Basics
What is World of Slime? World of Slime is a free-to-play casual MMORPG where you capture, collect, and grow slimes. You explore a world with friends, use synthesis to discover new species, fish for rare ingredients, and compete in PvP battles. There is no gacha and no pay-to-win mechanics.
Who made World of Slime? The game is developed and published by TEAM42, a South Korean studio. It was first announced in early 2026 and the public demo launched in August 2026.
Is World of Slime an MMORPG? Yes. It has full multiplayer with up to four players per session, a shared world, co-op capture mechanics, and PvP battle modes. It is categorised as a casual MMORPG rather than a hardcore one, meaning the progression loops are designed to be accessible rather than punishing.
Platforms and Access
Where can I play World of Slime? The demo is available now on Steam for PC and Mac. The full game launches in Q4 2026 on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android with full cross-play between all platforms.
Is the game free-to-play? Yes. World of Slime is completely free-to-play with no gacha, no loot boxes, and no pay-to-win purchases. Monetisation is cosmetic-only: slime skins and player avatar cosmetics.
Does it run on Mac? Yes. The minimum Mac requirement is macOS 12 Monterey with an Apple M1 or Intel Core i5 and 8 GB RAM.
Gameplay
What is the core loop? Capture slimes in the wild → add them to your party → bond with your partner slime → use synthesis to discover new species → explore new areas → repeat. Combat, crafting, and social play support the loop rather than replacing it.
Is there endgame content? The full game includes PvP ranked seasons, raid content for cooperative groups, and a completionist Slimepedia that takes months to fill. The demo does not include the full endgame.
Can I play solo? Yes. Every piece of content in World of Slime can be completed solo. Co-op is available and makes some things easier, but it is never required.
How does the capture system work? Approach wild slimes, wait for them to attack and become stunned, then throw a capture orb. Successful captures add the slime to your party and record it in your Slimepedia.
What is synthesis? Synthesis combines two slimes to create a new species with blended stats and sometimes a hybrid ability. It is the primary long-term progression system for players who want to optimise their team.
Multiplayer
Can I play with friends? Yes. Up to four players can share a session, explore together, and earn party capture bonuses. Multiplayer is available in both the demo and the full game.
Is there PvP? Yes. World of Slime has 1v1 and team PvP modes with seasonal ranked leaderboards. Ranked play is available from launch.
Is there cross-play? Yes. PC, Mac, and mobile players can all play together in the same sessions.
