World of Slime Tier List
Every slime ranked by effectiveness in PvP, PvE, and synthesis utility.
This tier list is based on extensive playtesting of the August 2026 demo. It ranks slime species across three categories — PvP effectiveness, PvE and exploration utility, and synthesis value — before combining them into an overall tier. Rankings will be updated when the full Q4 2026 game launches with the complete roster.
Tier Definitions
S Tier slimes are exceptional across all contexts. They excel in PvP, provide unique utility in PvE, and have high synthesis value. A player who invests resources in an S Tier slime is making a safe long-term choice.
A Tier slimes are strong but have specific conditions for peak performance. They might dominate PvP but have average synthesis value, or vice versa. A Tier slimes are excellent investments but require more thoughtful team building than S Tier choices.
B Tier slimes are viable and competitive. They are not dominant in any single category but have no significant weaknesses. Most experienced players use a mix of A and B Tier slimes in their teams.
C Tier slimes are situationally useful. They fulfil a specific niche — perhaps a unique ability that counters a common PvP strategy — but are not reliable all-rounders. Worth investing in if you need their specific niche.
D Tier slimes are currently underperforming in the demo meta. They may receive balance adjustments in the full game.
S Tier Slimes
Ember Puff — The standout S Tier for PvP. Its ability to apply burn and stack damage over time creates a control strategy that is difficult to counter without a specific cleanse build. High base Special Attack and a favourable type chart against the most common team compositions make it the top pick for competitive play.
Tide Caller — The best synthesis parent for hybrid abilities discovered so far. Its elemental affinity amplifies fusion bonuses when combined with other water types, and it passes strong Special Defense to children. Every serious synthesis player should have at least one high-IV Tide Caller.
A Tier Slimes
Briarthorn — A versatile grass type with excellent defensive stats and a passive ability that restores a small amount of health each turn in PvE. Less dominant in PvP but consistently useful across all content types.
Gloomcap Spore — The best support-type slime for co-op parties. Its ability to apply debuffs to wild slimes improves capture rates for the entire party, making it a staple in any group play session.
Spark Lattice — An electric type with high Speed and a chance to stun on hit. Its stun chance makes it valuable in PvP where every turn matters, and its speed makes it excellent for exploration sequences that require fast partner ability cycling.
How to Use This Tier List
Tier lists are tools, not prescriptions. Your team should reflect your playstyle and the slimes you actually enjoy using. The most important factor in long-term progress is bond strength — a well-bonded B Tier slime will often outperform a poorly-bonded S Tier slime in practice. Use this list to identify which slimes are worth investing bond-building time in, then pursue the ones that appeal to you aesthetically and mechanically.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about the game.
Will the tier list change when the full game launches?
Yes. The August 2026 demo only includes approximately 30 of the 100-plus planned species. The full roster and any balance adjustments will be incorporated into this tier list after launch.
Are there slimes not yet discovered that could change the meta?
Absolutely. Several legendary slimes are hidden in the demo and not yet publicly documented. Their inclusion in the full game could significantly shift the meta.
Does synthesis create slimes that rank higher than their parents?
Yes. Some of the most powerful synthesis results are not found in the wild at all. High-IV synthesis children regularly outperform their source parents.
Are there team composition strategies that beat individual slime tiers?
Yes. Type coverage, ability synergy, and speed order are all as important as individual slime power. A well-composed B Tier team can beat a poorly-composed S Tier team.
