World of Slime Slimepedia - TEAM42's Notebook

The Slimepedia is TEAM42’s answer to “where do captures live?” Dev. Note Vol.2 - summarised on Dev Notes - says it is not a generic monster encyclopedia. First capture of a species creates a record with where you found it and how it joined. Synthesis results get their own pages. The studio wants a memory album: your route, not a shared Pokédex. Unfound slimes stay partly behind hints. Repeat captures or a deeper bond build Slime Knowledge, which unlocks exploration skills and hidden functions. Steam’s about-text agrees: studying slimes is as important as levelling them.

What Vol.1 already required

Vol.1 said taming is weaken, Cube, log a line. Synthesis is experiment without a spoiler sheet. The Slimepedia is where both stories are written. Do not wait for this wiki to publish fake IV ranges, Attack/Defense/Speed/Special tables, or a “100+ species” completionist checklist. TEAM42 has not posted those numbers. The demo slice is on the order of thirty species. Treat larger counts as unofficial until a studio post names them.

Capture still means the Cube after the stun window. The capture guide is the field timing. Synthesis still means the village table without a public recipe list - slime synthesis. Fishing is the third recruit path. All three can write a page in the book. The book does not tell you which path is “correct.” That is the design.

How to fill it in the Windows demo

Walk, note weather and clock, throw a Cube after stun, then open the book. Ride to places feet cannot - exploration. Fuse at a village table. Fish the third recruit path. Help NPCs; some errands change which field you can reach. Powerful slimes deeper in can be hunts or allies - powerful slimes. None of that save carries to December. The habit of writing location and method does.

If two people hunt the same species on different hills, Vol.2 says each album remembers their hill. That is why this wiki will not paste a crowd-sourced spawn spreadsheet as if it were the official table. Share notes on Discord. Do not expect another player’s screenshot to overwrite your book.

Slime Knowledge versus a stat sheet

Vol.2 is explicit that the album is not a list of abilities you have not met. Repeat captures, or a deeper bond on shared journeys, build Slime Knowledge. That knowledge unlocks exploration skills and hidden functions. Steam’s store copy says the same in fewer words: studying slimes matters as much as levelling them. This page will not invent an IV quartile, a hidden ability tree PDF, or a “best knowledge farm” route. The bond page covers what the studio has actually said about travelling together.

The next Dev Note preview in Vol.2 pointed at exploration examples such as riding across a river or pulling a sled. Those verbs belong on the exploration guide. The Slimepedia is the album that records you did them with a specific partner.

What this page will not do

It will not list every species with made-up capture ratings. When TEAM42 names a species or a map pin, it will appear here. Until then, your in-game book is the source of truth, and Vol.2 is the design letter. Legendary “hidden until encountered” entries are a common encyclopedia trope; Vol.2 only promises hints for the unknown, not a named legendary tier.

It will not rank starters. The starter page exists for first-hour choices without pretending the demo roster is a finished competitive ladder.

Sharing

Your album is personal. You can talk recipes in Discord. You cannot dump another player’s book into yours. Demo recipes still reset in December. There is no official Trello of species. Steam News and the official Discord via worldofsli.me are the rooms that exist.

When the December client lands, this wiki will follow TEAM42’s wording on whether demo albums import. Until a Steam News post says they do, assume they do not. Keep writing location and method anyway: that habit is the point of Vol.2.
