The World of Slime Map
Peaceful woods, steep mountains, walking graves — and the slime partners that make each biome reachable.
TEAM42’s official site sketches the adventure map in three strokes: peaceful forest, rugged mountain, and graveyards where the dead do not stay down. Steam copy adds rivers you swim on slimeback and snow you cross by sled. Species also shift with location, weather, and time of day. This page is a field atlas for the demo and a checklist for the December 2026 world that is still unfolding.
How the Map Is Meant to Feel
World of Slime is sold as a leisurely exploration MMORPG, not a checklist of spawn points. Obstacles are invitations. If you cannot cross a river, the question is which partner you should have brought. If a cave is black, the question is whether your bond has unlocked a light. The wiki still maps biomes because players search for “where does X spawn” — just remember the official design is that the slime you raise is the key, not a paid teleport.
Villages are the safe knots in that fabric. People gathered there after mutant slimes appeared. NPCs hand out problems to solve, which in practice means new map slices: a blocked trail, a flooded crossing, a night-only graveyard request. Talk to everyone on the first visit. The Getting Started loop of village, capture, Slimepedia is also the map loop.
Forests
Forests are the teaching biome. Common slimes, tutorial Cubes, and vine-choked side paths live here. Bring a partner that can cut or squeeze through plant barriers once bond allows it. Daytime forest runs fill early Slimepedia pages. Night forest runs are where weather-or-clock species start to appear. Do not assume the meadow in front of the first village is the whole woodland — ride-accessible river forks often hide a second grove.
Mountains and Snow
Mountains are the sled exam. Official text describes a slime pulling you on a sled to places you could never reach on foot. Downhill speed and launch timing matter; missing a gap returns you to a checkpoint rather than deleting the partner. Pack a slime you are willing to retry with. High slopes also mean cold-weather spawn tables. If a species is listed as mountain-only in your Slimepedia, do not farm it in the starting forest for three hours.
Graveyards
The official site’s graveyard line is the tone shift: this world is cute, not toothless. Expect undead-adjacent slimes, poor visibility, and NPCs who will not walk in with you. Light and barrier-break functions matter more than raw attack. Graveyard hours may be time-gated. If nothing spawns, check the clock before you assume a bug. Co-op helps for large hunts, but the demo’s available graveyard slices should still be soloable — TEAM42 has not announced a demo area that requires a full raid group.
Water, Weather, and the Clock
Rivers and lakes are not decoration. Swimming on a slime opens deltas, islands, and fishing banks covered in the fishing guide. Weather and time of day are confirmed spawn levers in press coverage. Keep a tiny journal: species, biome, rain or clear, day or night, Cube grade that worked. That journal is the real map. The on-screen atlas shows geography; your notes show permission.
Demo Bounds Versus December
The August 2026 demo is a Windows PC slice: first major area, on the order of thirty species, full capture and synthesis, fishing, and online play with friends. TEAM42 has described additional major areas for the full launch. Treat any “four continents” rumour as unverified unless it appears on Steam or worldofsli.me. What is verified is the December 2026 PC and mobile launch, November mobile pre-registration, and a G-STAR showcase in Busan the same month — see the roadmap.
Use demo time to learn biome logic, not to complete a world that is still being built. When a new area lands, come back to this page; the forest / mountain / graveyard grammar is the language the rest of the map will speak.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about the game.
Is there a fast travel system?
Villages and rest points are the confirmed return points. Do not expect a full fast-travel grid in the demo. Traversal slimes are the intended long-distance tool.
Can I see every biome in the August 2026 demo?
The demo is the first major area plus teaching terrain such as water and snow. Graveyard and mountain language comes from the official site; treat extra biomes as launch-scale content if they are gated in your build.
Do slimes spawn differently in rain or at night?
Yes. Official coverage states species availability changes by location, weather, and time of day. Log those three fields in the Slimepedia.
Are any areas co-op only?
TEAM42 has not listed a demo region that requires a party. Large boss hunts are easier with friends; the map itself is built to be walked with a slime partner.
