World of Slime Cross-Play and Input: What TEAM42 Has Confirmed

One community on PC and mobile in December. The live demo is a Windows Steam slice.

Cross-Play — PC, Mac, Mobile, and Controllers

Players search “World of Slime cross-play” because TEAM42 said the full game is built so phone and PC owners meet in the same world. That sentence is true for the December 2026 design. It is not true of the build you can download today. This page splits those two timelines and lists the Steam input flags that already exist on the store page.

What is confirmed for the full launch

Enduins and Inven both quote the studio: World of Slime is a cross-platform MMORPG between mobile and PC, with a winter 2026 launch. The official site and Steam page name Android, macOS, and PC (Steam). iOS is part of the mobile half of that plan. There is no announced console SKU — not PlayStation, not Xbox, not Switch. If a DualSense is in your house, it is a PC peripheral until a console version exists.

Steam’s store flags for the full app already include Multi-player, MMO, Full controller support, DualSense Controller Support, Camera Comfort, Custom Volume Controls, Save Anytime, Stereo Sound, Touch Only Option, and Family Sharing. Those flags describe the product TEAM42 submitted to Steam. They do not mean a PS5 disc is coming. DualSense adaptive features, if they ship as advertised, belong to a pad plugged into a computer.

What the August 2026 demo actually is

The demo (app 4793900) opened 26 August 2026 as a Windows PC Steam download. Mac is on the full-game requirements sheet (macOS 12 Monterey, Apple M1 or Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 20 GB). It is not in the demo. Phones are not in the demo. You cannot invite an iOS friend into this preview. You can invite other Windows demo players and practise online sessions, 1v1 and 3v3, and co-op hunts.

Progress in the demo does not carry over. Cross-play at launch will not magically restore a wiped Slimepedia. Use the preview to learn Cube timing and party callouts, then rebuild in December. See the demo guide and wishlist pages for nickname reservation and the November mobile pre-registration window.

Account linking: confirmed goal, unpublished flow

TEAM42 wants one community, not a PC guild and a mobile guild that never meet. How you log into the phone client — Steam account, studio ID, or store login — has not been published as a step-by-step FAQ. Do not write a guide that invents Steam Guard on iOS. When the November pre-registration page or the December client shows the real linker, this wiki will update. Until then, the honest advice is: wishlist Steam, keep the same Discord identity, and expect TEAM42 to document the bind during G-STAR or the pre-reg campaign.

Cloud saves are a related guess. Steam lists Save Anytime. That is not the same sentence as “Steam Cloud on your phone.” Treat cloud sync as likely for a modern F2P MMO and unconfirmed in writing. Avoid running two live sessions on two devices until the studio says which timestamp wins.

Controllers, touch, and fairness

Full controller support is a Steam category, not a rumour. Keyboard and mouse remain the obvious PC default; the controls guide covers layouts. Touch Only Option on the store page matches a mobile client that is not a broken port. TEAM42’s press line is that the game should be comfortable across ages. That does not prove ranked matchmaking will split input types. Until ranked rules exist, assume you may meet a pad player in 3v3 and play the slime, not the peripheral.

Camera Comfort and custom volume are accessibility flags, not graphics presets. If you get motion sick in third-person collection games, look for those toggles on day one. They are why this page sits next to system requirements instead of inside a PvP rant.

Linux, Steam Deck, consoles

Steam lists Linux as unsupported. Steam Deck compatibility is unverified by this wiki; do not buy a Deck on a World of Slime promise. Consoles remain unannounced. If a handheld or living-room SKU appears, it will land on the platforms hub first.

How to think about “one world”

The pitch is social: ride slimes, fish, hunt bosses, fill the Slimepedia with friends who might be on a train. Cross-play is the plumbing for that pitch. The August demo is a stress test of the PC half. December is when the phone half is supposed to arrive. Between those dates, G-STAR in November is the likely place TEAM42 shows more of the linker and the mobile HUD. Follow the events page rather than screenshot leaks.

If someone tells you the demo already has iOS cross-play, they are describing the trailer, not the installer. Point them here.
